I don't know why so many people care if people put blame on JJ. So what if he is a Sophomore, I don't care! There are other Freshmen in D1 that have shown more in one game than JJ has shown all year. I don't put blame on entirely on him, but I do think that we need to find QB talent somewhere on the team already or recruit. If someone on here were actually worth a damn at looking at QB mechanics I would like to hear from you. He passes like my grandmother at the shooting range with shotgun. He needs more coaching but I am afraid we don;t have enough time left with him to make him worth a damn. Do you see JJ quarterbacking in the NFL? I sure as hell don't, that should say something about his talents.

i support this, without adequate coaching we will be going through the same thing next year as this year

Yeah, let's continue the cycle of dumping QBs and letting an inexperienced QB start. We'll never get better doing it that way.

Yea he has poor mechanics. He had poor mechanics when Les recruited him. He's had 2 years of "coaching" for them to get him to correct it.

It's common knowledge that Crowton's offense does poorly when the quarterbacks are the ones that began when he coaches as opposed to left over from previous coaches.

All that aside, he's not doing terribly. I don't see you calling out the running backs for having lackluster games... But maybe thats because of our offensive line? Who coaches that? Les?

They all need to tighten up.

JJ is pretty much a rs freshman but had to be thrown into the fray last year because of JL. I don't think hes the qb that Lsu can put the game on his shoulders. He could be a great game manager QB if lsu has a running game. I wish Lsu did have a good pro style qb to get it to the receivers lsu has.

About half the QBs in the NFL today had no chance of ever making it at the next level.

I don't get why people can't understand this.

So should we just keep letting him start? This kid will play like this till he leaves. He is like Alex Smith in the NFL he will never get it going.

Saying things like that just makes you sound idiotic, but then I remember where I am.

You don't know if someone will go above or below expectations. If you did, don't you think LSU would hire you for your amazing insight? Wouldn't they have you evaluate every recruit?

Have they hired you? Do they need your input? Simply put, no.

We should know next year if JJ "has it." Not sure if any of us know right now.

Am I the only MFer that sees how inaccurate this guy is?

He'll play like what? He improved this season and played fine in the bowl game. People are too blind and have already made up their mind so they don't see that.

Jefferson went 13/24 for 202 yards on Friday, and there were at least 5 drops that hit the receiver right in the hands. Probably more than 5. He should have been about 18/24 for 250 yards. That would have been outstanding game for him. The one interception wasn't his fault.

Jefferson showed that he learned how to avoid pressure. He slid away from the pressure and kept his eyes downfield, the best time was when he hit Tolliver for that 40 yard pass on 3rd down. He scrambled nicely for a 1st down a couple of times.

People need to watch the games instead of making up their minds before hand, ignoring what happens, and keeping their same mindset afterwards.

A 62% completion percentage is fantastic for a Sophomore.

I counted 4 that should have been caught and another 3 that could have been caught. 1 that should have been caught turned into a touchdown. And 1 that could have been caught should gave been a touchdown.

The bottom line is if the recievers catch the damn ball Jefferson does not need to lead LSU on a touchdown scoring drive in the end.

but the 7 - 6 picks were JL's fault last season?

it partly the players fault if they were great H.S. QB's on quality teams and they can't find someone to help them or use their own initiative to improve their physical tools. but GC and LM are partially at fault as well. but JJ will not sniff the NFL as a starter ever. Look at JR with the Raiders........duh!!!!!!

Who said anything about 7 of Lee's 16 interceptions being run back for a touchdown being his fault? But yes, they all were. Jefferson's interception on Friday went right through Tolliver's hands. All of Lee's pick 6s were right at the defender.

You're the only MFer who expects a soph QB to play stellar behind the worst OL in recent LSU history and under some of the worst coaching anywhere. His OL managed 41 yds rushing against PSU. Why do you expect great QB play?

His mecanics and reading are too dang slow. He would need a great O-line to be successful.
