No, idiot, that would just be tacky. They're planning to wrap a strand of multicolor Christmas lights around the PVC.

I'm down with the look as well. Hopefully ESPN will have some bumper shots of the makeover. If it wasn't for that damn PVC pipe....FRICK!!!
