OK, did not want this to become a gym/minor sports thread so much, a few things please
Minor sports is only one factor I cited as losing confidence in Joe (I do NOT hate him), fb influence in SEC and fb in general is MUCH bigger $$ wise and I care about FB more than all others as most of you do...
as for the minor sports (my last thoughts) at least know the facts..
gym super 6 like basketball final four?
really, there are over 325 D1 Basketball teams so 1 team in 81 makes FF each year, there are about 46 D1 gym teams so making super 6 is about 1 in 8....not even close
And AGAIN all I am asking for is SEC titles every 10-15 years or so, so I will end this part of the fact sharing by reminding all that the last time LSU won an SEC title in
Womens Golf 1992 (our only one, same coach 30 yrs)
Men's Golf 1987
Cross cuntry- never
Soccer- never
Mens tennis 1999
Women's tennis never
Gym- 1981, same coach 36 years
Swimming and Diving 1988, one and only
In these sports we have had some great individual players and success at times, but I do not think it is too much to expect that LSU win more (a good bit more) SEC titles in any sport we put on the field, 1 each 10-15 years or so at least, we win in Football (ole miss has gone 50 year since an SEC) and baseball and at times in men and womens basketball and softball and women's track. But how about some in the others..thanks for reading

FIRE JOE DEAN!
Seriously though, I can't believe you're still trying to defend yourself. You've already showed your arse, just turn around and walk away.

Your last post says it all, you would rather keep pissing INTO the wind than to admit you know nothing of what you speak.

Women's Golf - only 3 teams have won more than SEC titles than LSU
Men's Golf - only 2 teams have won more SEC titles than LSU
Soccer - Historically dominated by UF and Tenn. LSU has won the west 3 times since 2007
Men's Tennis - 3 teams with more SEC wins than LSU
Women's Tennis - Only 3 teams have won SEC titles
Gymnastics- 3 teams with more SEC titles
Swimming & Diving - Auburn has won 18 out of the last 20 titles including 16 straight
Basically each one of these minor sports is dominated by 1 or 2 teams in the conference.

yea, its ok for us to have 8 or so sports who are not in the top 3 SEC of sports that have 5-9 teams, thanks for all of you showing me how wrong I was...

No, dumbass. You're trying to look at the minor sports from the same persepective as the major sports, when the dynamics of the two are COMPLETELY different. How hard is it for you to understand this?

Gymnastics is the only sport that has less than 10 teams competing. And LSU is in the top half of SEC titles in almost every other sport.
You're trying to judge success in niche sports to that of major sports. These minor sports have limited resources and limited talent/athletes participating. There's a reason that all these niche sports are dominated by so few teams and it has nothing to do with the AD.
We are actually one of the overall more competetive teams in the SEC in these sports.

Why question his work now?
Caldwell hire-I was starting to question the hire, but she did an incredible job this season. We'll be one of the early favorites to win the SEC next season
Torina-She's been an absolute dynamite hire from the beginning and already has a top-10 class coming in, along with the nation's best pitcher for 2014.
Jones-Sure it was a "good ol boy" hire, but what is wrong with that? It's starting to show that is exactly what we needed from the beginning; a guy who knows what it takes to revive the basketball program.
Football-elite
Baseball-elite
Track-we don't even have locker rooms for the indoor teams and they're still top-5.
Gymnastics-yeah, let's fire DD Breaux while we're ranked 5th in the country with a really young team. If Alleva had been the AD here in the 90s, do you really think she would have survived this long? hell no. Just look at the swimming and women's tennis coaches. They sucked, so he canned them. Simple as that.
Golf-elite. WInstead was a great hire
Also, many of the same people who love to bitch about our "struggles" in the mid-major sports also don't want a single dime invested in the mid-major programs. Alleva is finally giving these programs the facilities they deserved 10 years ago.
You want to know why FLorida is so far ahead of us in the big picture? Location is nice, but our mid-major facilities suck. He's fixing that.
So yeah, FIRE ALLEVA!!!

Nobody gives a shite about those sports, seriously, no one cares.
Football, Baseball, Basketball and Track. Thats all anyone cares about. I follow the men's golf, but honestly most people dont even know we have a team.

Also...
In what way?
the minor sports has been addressed in this thread, but which major sports is he not supporting?
WTF?
Again WTF? Examples?
Pretty sure LSU is raking in the donations right now.
How?
