Hess has a "closer" mentality.
He should be an effective starter, but don't expect him to be near that intense or throw that hard over 6-7 innings.
That's physically and mentally impossible.
Which is why, if we can develop another rotation pitcher, part of me likes the idea of Zack remaining at closer/late relief.

CPM said he feared for his own safety when he approached Hess after the 8th about taking him out.

I didn't wanna start a new thread for this so I'm gonna ask here..were Lange and Poche expected to be as good as they are coming out of HS? I think Lange had a great freshman year so maybe..I ask because I wanna know if Hess and Walker could potentially be as good as those guys or are their ceilings capped? Too early to tell?
