Looked like he gave up the first down himself rather than got a bad spot to me.

I thought so too. There were a lot of crappy calls, but after watching that play several times missing that first down is on JJ. He was trying to step around the tackler and turn that into a bigger play and instead forced us to punt. I thought otherwise he played a strong game.

The refs blew it dead based on forward progress.

A harbinger of things to come. This seems to happen alot playing Alabama or Auburn. It's homer ball. Don't we pay our officials good money as well?

OK LSU played a PERFECT GAME and should have won by 40 points. What a loser you are. QUIT BLAMING THE REFS!!!!

Don't get your panties in a wad. I've never blamed refs for a single loss. I've always said you need to be better than your opponents AND the refs from kickoff to final whistle.

Having said that, I simply stated it was going to be a long day when a guy gets hit, falls back a yard and a half and the ball is spotted where he lands.

You can say he made another move, but I have trouble with this when his legs were wrapped up by a tackler.

It looked to me like JJ gave up on the play. He wasn't tackled by the first guy there, and backed up a bit. My opinion...

Yeah, Jefferson could have helped us out a bit by just falling forward as he was getting tackled

Unfortunately jefferson doesn't have the "orange" line running across the field like we have on our TV screens that clearly shows where the first down is.
