He announced on Instagram that he will be playing in "The Basketball Tournament" (also called "TBT") which is a tournament held in the summer and televised on ESPN in which former college and former NBA players play for a grand prize of $2 million for the winning team. The tournament has been around since 2014 and I have never heard of an active college player playing in it so I guess it is safe to assume that Emmitt is gone for real this time. I know we all kind of expected this given his situation as a father.

Was never a doubt he was gone. What is in doubt is where he makes his money to support his child . Should at worst make a decent living in Europe. Good luck E

He had no choice. You can only enter once and come back.

Wish the best for him. Glad it all worked out after that false charge in highschool

Huge recruit...hats off to him for coming to LSU and believing in Wade. One of my favorite Tigers. His energy is unmatched. Hate to see him leave.
Thanks Emmitt

Is this proof he wasn't recieving improper benefits? With the way the media portrays the program, you'd think Emmitt could support a child and continue to play at LSU.

Interesting. Typically it is ex nba players and mostly ex college players who never made it to the nba.

He is listed as playing on a team that includes both Tim Quarterman as well as Johnny O'Bryant.

Most likeable player in LSU basketball history IMO. Dude played so hard and his attitude was amazing. He will be missed.

I’m still not over the loss of March madness. I know we had too many holes to get too far but we were likely to win 1-2 and make the 3rd interesting. Which would have been pretty fun.

I hear you, but I've been a Tiger fan since the late 70's. We had back to back years as an 11 seed (final 4), and a 10 seed (elite 8). ANYTHING can happen once the tournament tips off.

Played a lot taller than he was with just giving max effort. Knew his role and embraced it.

It’s also usually after the draft and the guys that left college have teams either in the NBA G-league or overseas.

100 anything can happen and never knowing really really is disappointing. Team was rough around the edges and never met potential with all the infighting and bickering... It would have been very nice to see if they could pull it all together or not when it mattered... Sux bc we will never no
