I agree it’s time for Paul to go, but can you give me examples of how Paul isn’t innovative?

He coaches like LSU is a major-league team from the 1970s/80s.

* would rather guys put the ball in play regardless of contact type than focus on making hard contact
* calls for bunts outside the one situation you ever should (bottom of the last inning, tied or down 1)
* calls hit-and-runs constantly, forcing hitters to swing at bad pitches and either make a quick out or put themselves in a hole while potentially getting the baserunner out
* bats one of his best hitters 3rd (the worst spot for them since it's the most likely to bat with 2 outs, 0 on)
* prefers soft-hitting defensive players at less important positions (like 2B) over good hitters
* often bats left-handed hitters back-to-back, giving opponents an advantage in the late innings with bullpen usage
* continues with standard bullpen roles (7th-inning guy, 8th-inning guy, closer)
* hangs his pitchers out to dry to "let them work out of jams" instead of replacing them before the game gets out of hand

I literally can't think of one thing CPM does that's innovative or on the cutting edge. It's the same strategy used 30-40 years ago when very few knew any better.

CPM is like CLM. He is good, not great, and never will be.

CLM won his NC's on the coattails of Nick Saban.
CPM won his natty on the coattails of Smoke Laval.
