Let's suppose that LSU defeats A & M in the Cotton Bowl.

Now, what if following the Cotton Bowl, Les announces that he is retiring from coaching (and it's legit...he retires).

How will he be viewed by the LSU faithful?

70% will miss him and think he's our silly, goofy, winner of a large-testicled coach.

30% will be glad he's gone.

I'd be happy he was gone. We can do better. I like him overally as a person, just don't think he's the smartest guy ever.

When LSU beats TAMU, it will be 11-2. This will only be the fourth time that has happened in LSU history (11 wins). Les will have coached 3 of them.

I would be kinda apathetic about it. He has his brilliant moments, and he has his just "WTF ARE YOU THINKING???!!!" moments. More people seem to remember the latter moments than the one before that. Needless to say, he is a good coach. His teams always seem up on the big games, and a little bit laxed on the not as important games (Troy in '08) but he has charisma, quirky, fits in somehow with the people from the south. Never would've thought that, him being from Michigan and all.

I'll be in the 30% group.

Bill King of Rivals Radio said of Florida this AM " Winning 9 or 10 Games a year is not good enough. It's [Florida Football] is about competing for Championships"

I feel the same way about LSU Football and think if Les doesn't make a run at the division this year he should be gone. (and yeah I know what he's record is against Troy, UL-whatever)

Making up words and then talking about someone else's intelligence. Classic rantard.

If you win 10+ games a year you pretty much are competing for championships.
