My daughter set her Saturday October wedding date in April. When she called me, the first obvious question was, 'Who does LSU play that day?'.

They played Florida. My daughter promptly changed the date to Friday. The wedding was in Vegas and the groom is from Minnesota.

While at the reception, the grooms family were wondering out loud why the wedding was on a Friday. The Maid of Honor and I answered simultaneously, "LSU plays Florida tomorrow!"

Made a father proud.

there's always bitching and moaning from poor planners who have weddings/anniversaries that fall on an LSU game day

Yep. It's funny how many people who let their fiance` plan the wedding during football season fail to realize that that means their anniversary will also be in the fall every year, and it's bound to fall on Saturday sometimes.

Slid my wedding in on August 18, 2001. My other friends did the spring because of CFB affiliations. My doucher step brother did labor day weekend of 2001. I snuck in and out of the reception. Took 10 beers and finger foods to my truck and listened to the severe beating of Patrick Ramsey and the greenies. TEAM me

I know this is a sports message board and I will get blasted, but there are things more important than a football game.
If it is not the Bama game, nut up, be a man, and do what you have to do to support a spouse or family member if they decide things might just need to happen on a Saturday during the fall.
