How does buyout offset work?

Once les accepts new job how is the 9.6 million buyout decreased on lsu's end

Not positive, but pretty sure we pay whatever amount over his new salary to get to his buyout salary.

Correct. LSU owes him about 1.4 mil yr for six years. If he takes a job for 1.2 mil yr coaching or anything else LSU owes him 200k yr
