I'd even be fine with going back to the true traditional helmet we used up until the early 70's, which was the purple number on the side.
i like that idea, but doubt that will happen. I thought instead of the horrible purple jersey games to do something traditional like using the old style numbered-helmet and stay with the white jersey. Don’t mind the L S U on the helmet but the toonces needs serious help.

We made a big change a few years back and use the "Geaux" font everywhere else, why didn't we put in on the helmets too?
You're saying they should do something like this?...
I personally think the current LSU font on the helmet looks good. The geaux font is designed for the letters to run flat. If you tried to curve them it doesn't look right.
I can't really figure out how LSU stands on tradition. They've kept the current helmet since the 70's which tells me they respect tradition, but then they go and f*** it up by adding toonces to our set of logos. Thank God they haven't added toonces to the helmet.
They did change it in the 70's from having that purple circle around the tiger. To me that was a necessary change though. They made the LSU letters a lot larger and removing the purple circle make the tiger stick out a little better.
Thanks for that link. I really hope they never change the helmet permanently. I like when they change the colors up for a game here and there, but our current helmets are beautiful.
