Shoop hits all the checks and is excited to be at LSU. I think he's the guy.

He's better than Saggy Man-Tits McChavis!

In all honesty though, I think he's great. Vandy had great defenses with 2* and 3* talent, and James Franklin is an offense guy, so Shoop is the one who gets the credit for that.

Did well at vandy with subpar talent. Not sure about his recruiting skills. As a play caller and coaching up players I think he would be a good hire

I'm all in on Shoop now. He sounds like he'd be a great hire based on the word of very knowledgeable CFB people. His results at Penn St. and Vandy speak for themselves, and he seems adept at mixing and matching different personnel to maximize their value (unlike Chavis who for better or worse seemed to want his players to adhere to more rigid roles).

No defensive coordinator is really, really good when his players are in the field all fricking game.

Miles needs to buck the "shitty offense" trend and his defense will be better by default.

Maybe then, he can earn respect, and the money he is paid. Holding fast to run run pass won't get him anywhere. Our run offense even isn't that great, consistently.

If he can't get over 1-9-12, then park the fricking truck and let someone else drive.

LSU was top 10 in Time of Possession so you are definitely off base with this comment.

Yes, the offense needs to improve but don't make shite up.

His Vandy D gave up 10 more yards of total D last year than LSU's. He did that at Vandy His Penn St. D was #2 in total D this year, we were 9th

If Miles is able to land Shoop than there are a lot of posters that need to ban themselves and I applaud Alleva if he didn't bend over to Chavis' demands on salary.

With the success he had at Vandy and a dumpster fire PSU, imagine what he could do at LSU.

Is he more of an aggressive, press/bump and run, blitz style of coach or a zone oriented coach?

LSU's this year? Or last year? Big difference. I am assuming you mean for this season?

From everything I've read about him, he has only coached DBs.

How would that shake up the rest of the staff?
Haley? Raymond? LB coach?

Would Orgeron still be a possibility?
