Bitching helps though? At least everyone around you knows that you do not put up with average football.
Enjoy the games or go do something else. Pretty darn easy.
WTF are you talking about? I was responding to cajun who was trying to imply that i accept average football because i support Miles and am a "positiger". Relax

Ive been a little more negative before 2001 and after 2008. I guess the way I grew up on LSU football being terrible, it made me a negatiger. Then 2001 came around, and the way that the SECCG played out and then the sugar bowl I couldnt be negative anymore. After the 2008 year I became a negatiger again, but not to the extent that I was.
I guess I was a negatiger for a couple of Saban years and Miles years but Ive only been a positiger during Saban and Miles years also.

I am not a negatiger. I do look at reality. The last two years has been avg at best. I hope for improvement though. I support Miles and the team. I just call it as I see it and I am not satisfied right now as a fan.

You are full of shite. You are unsatisfied with who the coach is, regardless of results. You weren't happy with him during our first 3 years. As long as he is the coach at LSU, you are going to be unable to enjoy any victories. You haven't been able to enjoy any victories since he's been here. You're afraid of being honest and admitting such.

You haven't been able to enjoy any victories since he's been here, there's no reason to believe you will enjoy any in the future. You were depressed when we won the SEC title because you knew it increased Miles' chances of staying at LSU. You were really upset after we won against Ohio State. You're not happy unless Saban is the coach.

I've been reading the rant for a long time. You can't bullshite me. I know how you feel. To be honest, I don't care if you don't like Miles. I just wish you would quit acting like your disdain developed the past 2 years.

I commend the program, coaches and players when I think it's appropriate, and criticize them when I believe it's justified. I am neither a positiger nor a negatiger. I'm just a run-of-the-mill fan with opinions.

If those are the two choices positiger. Anybody who watches football for long enough knows it goes in cycles and that there will be down years. You can be a top a conference like the SEC every year.
All the negative rantards are why I never post here.

This is one of the most invigorating posts I have read on the Rant in a long time.
If only we had more people with this understanding than we do. To me that is what makes a smart fanbase, one that understands what roll we as fans play as for as the actual team goes.
I have been a Tiger fan since I was a kid and listened to the games with my Dad as long as I can remember until he died 3 years ago. I even remember being a scout and ushering people to their seats in U40-U50 and U60 in the Upper deck of the South endzone for 13 years and also as a Scout Master just to be able to go to the games.
I remember when Ole Miss would come through Doyle on their buses and we would stand out by the highway 190 and hold our signs that read "Go To Hell Ole Miss" and holler it also. That was the good ole days long since forgotten.
Back then it was our school just as much as it was the teams and we supported our Tigers and because of that support and LOVE for our Tigers we developed a relationship that was unlike any anywhere else in the Nation.
Now there is not that LOVE for the team as it was back then because a lot of the kids go out of state to school unlike back then everyone went to LSU unless they could not afford it they went to Southeastern in Hammond. The reason was it was family and family did not go against family. If Daddy said it then that was it and you had better not go against it. You would more than likely wind up out behind the woodshed with that 2" leather strap on your bottom.
To me being an LSU fan is a privilage I do not take lightly. I go and take my family to the games when we can go. I want my son to grow up being an LSU Fan because that is what I did and that there is not any other team that I would want to be apart of than the LSU Tigers.
I Say!

Abe Lincoln said: A man is as happy as he makes his mind up to be.
Being negative or positive is not a natural happening. It is ususally engendered by nurture.
Usually it is an attribute demonstrated by a parent that is carried on by the child.
this is the difference between a life of FEAR or a life of FAITH.
the individual gets to choose. YOU have chosen and life of FEAR. I find it very burdensome to carry such a life, so I choose FAITH.
it usually takes a life stressing situation to change from a person of fear to one of strength.
i see it everyday in meetings of drunks and drug addicts. But, it is also common in most human frailties such as overeating and gambling.
it is not a choice until you understand that being positive or negative is a choice.
ciao

Any Tiger that has been a Tiger for longer than a decade has to, at some level, be a Positiger.
Anyone else recall the 80's or 90's ? Good grief people, we're bitching about 8 and 9 wins seasons... wake up.

Not true.
Saban called it Catastrophe Syndrome. It is a fear of returning to the 90s.
Hence, a great number of nega or reali-tigers.
