There's an awful lot of passionate Hughes defenders in here. As a long time LSU baseball fan, I've never seen a worse hitter in the starting lineup on a regular basis, and this is three years in. His defense would have to be awesome for me to put him in my lineup, and his defense has never been anything more than solid. Which is fine, if you can hit.

I'd have Doughty or Mathis there, right now, and put Dugas at second and see if he can get it going with regular at bats. If that fails, at least you know you tried. Throwing Hughes out there everyday and expecting a different result, at this point, just makes little sense.

And please don't lecture me about him getting two rbi on a couple of off the end of the bat bloopers.

Whenever Arnold is available, maybe he can help, but obviously that's a conversation for another day when we've actually seen him.

The RBI on the sac fly wasn’t off the cap. He barreled that one. That ball went at least 240’ deep. Top 5 deepest ball he has ever hit.
