I disagree, he's handling this properly. It will all come back on him positively IF he wins. I'm not sure if he meant to do this, or just being honest, but either way if I were a voter who preferred not to see Bama/LSU rematch, this would sway me to vote for OSU if they win.
Besides, the more Nick is on TV, the worse he comes off...he is uncomfortable to watch on TV when he's trying to be nice and likeable.

Honestly, I think he's just sending a message to his team, trying to motivate them against Oklahoma. Saying they aren't good enough "right now", but they will be if they beat OU.
