Ground Control to Les Miles

Great coaching for almost two quarters, and hat's off to a incredble comeback against Troy, cupcake or not.
Pssst! I know the ghost of Joe Dean still haunts the halls, and Skip has instilled in you a penny pinching philosophy. It's nice to say we're saving $400k - $500k per year, but we need a defensive coordinator, badly, and it would not hurt to spend a little more and pick up a good special teams coach as well. Troy hung 31 points on our team in one half of a game. Not Florida, or Georgia, Troy.
The offense scored 3 (three) points against Troy in the first half, and your other work in progress looks like he has had no work at all. Now we understand why he was not put in against Alabama. Makes complete sense.
Watching no one block on punt returns, seeing 7 Troy players swarm our punt returner, is disturbing. Watching our kickoff return team not understand how to field squib kicks, is disturbing. Watching a player haphazardly grab a bouncing punt over his shoulder and return it is unacceptable.
One or two of dropped passes by Troy, or a few more running attempts, and people would have been talking about your replacement. It would have been the worst defeat in LSU history, You were that close.
You do not have to necessarily fire Peveto and Mallory just this instant, or even ths season, because we realize you should not ask for a DC to leave where they are right now, unlike Nebraska. Pick up a good DC (hint: not the one from TN) and let him make the decision of P & M at the end of the season. For now, we understand that no change will be made until recruiting is affected and we will be patient.
We like you coach Miles, and we want you to be able to stick around.

Everything's fine. Nothing to see here.

its hard to block when the kicks were that bad, it was better for them to just get out of the way

in jefferson's defense on his throws, his receivers were NOT helping him out at all.

Absiolutely. He just looked really out of place, and I am sure he is capable. I'm just surprised he is not further along, knowing RP was going to be out and what we had with our original starter. Jimbo proved he was a very good developer with qbs, and addition to LSU qbs, I point to Damayue Craig as an ezample. I hope the wizard is as good or better in this dept. No question it takes time, and it's a tough position to learn. You have to be smart. It's by no coincidene our two NC qbs also played catcher.

Exactly, another phase of the special teams where we struggled last night., and it's not just the punter that needs coaching...

These kind of comments are just mind blowing to me. What did you expect this year?

I thought we would lose to Auburn, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. I never dreamed we would be spanked by TROY STATE in the first half plus of a game. That's a nightmare, not a dream.

On the Troy punts last night I was wondering why we didn't put 11 men on the line and go for the block. Every kick was short and intended to roll, making it tough to field and creates a danger from having a blocker get hit with the ball. Plus, he always rolled the same way before the kick (making a shorter approach to block on that side), and the kicks were always low line drives to get the roll (easier to block).
