Absolutely ridiculous. I don't even have to explain myself. Everybody else has already made you look stupid. So I won't bother

What's it say then if you can't even make the losers tournament?

NYC and Madison Cube Garden is a great goal to have for any of these teams!

I don't care what anyone says, I'm proud of this team. We're going in the right direction and I think not just the talent is getting better, but the coaching. I like the numerous late game comebacks and fight in these guys. Hopefully it rubs off on some of the new guys next year and we can make a run at the NCAA Tourney

If you want to build up your program... you always want to get more tournament experience, regardless if its the NIT or not. Making the NIT is WAY better than not doing anything.

Yeah it's pretty stupid to even argue with his logic. Like someone else said, tournament experience is good to have.

exactly. Getting more experience in a post season tourney against quality teams. How could that possibly be bad. Especially after a tough loss against Florida

Glad We Are Not Going to NIT

THANK YOU!!!!!! Nobody gives a shite about the NIT. You think kentucky happy there going to the NIT and care about playing for a couple more weeks? Will you even watch the NIT now that LSU is not in? If you are on here crying about the NIT then you are pathetic. Be thankful that we overachieved this season and don't worry we will start next season ranked in the top 25 in the country. Not many teams will be bringing back 4 double figured scorer and possibly the best big man in college. When you add a top 5 recruiting class which is really the 2nd best class when you add in the needs of LSU. CJJ got the train on the right track and were getting ready to be a mainstay in the NCAA tournament. After that you will see me on here crying about making the NIT not missing it.

Your thinking is flawed. Our last 3 games did us in. Beat soundly by Ole Miss, blew a 20 pt lead the next game, the absolutely embarrassed by UF. Cant blaime the NIT committee, we didnt deserve to get in.

Doesnt take away the fact that we mad big strides this year, and it was a really good season for us.

I agree with you, lets not praise mediocrity and have a feel good tourny with the NIT, we need to get to the Big Dance or just focus on baseball season

Are you guys also opposed to ALL football bowl games except the Nat'l Championship game?

There are plenty of douches on here that think that way.

You people are impossible to please. We didn't hire a proven commodity at coach like Calipari to bring in 4 top 20 players and go to the NCAA instantly. This program was left pretty bad under Trent and JJ is somehow pulling top classes and showing improvement and fluidity on the court. I hated watching Trent's teams outside of his first year when he had all that talent. An NIT bid would have been good practice for the young guys and it could have made them feel a little better about their season. This isn't football where we compete for national championships every year. Give it time.

Man your argument is flawed. Of course Kentucky is not happy about going to the NIT, they have arguably the best coach in the country, have gotten the top recruiting class in the country each of the last 4-5 years, made the final four in 2011 and had far and away the best team last year. Right now, anything less than a final four for them is pretty much an underachievement, that's what happens when you are the most accomplished program in your sport. Just like LSU football fans expect better than a Chik-Fil-A bowl the year after making the NCG in football, UK rightfully expects better than the NIT.

Now for LSU basketball where trent left us, NIT was the best we could have realistically hoped for, we deserved to go there, and got shafted. This team needs all the development real games provide for the future of LSU basketball. Thats what happens when you're trying to be a program on the rise. Championship or bust is not realistic of LSU basketball.
