At that point you give it a chance if there's no play.

Have been so busy at work this week that I did not see that Gausman had been called up. I only found out this morning when my kindergartner's teacher mentioned they were having donuts as their afternoon snack to celebrate. She's a HUGE Orioles fan and has no idea I am an LSU grad.

About to get his second start tonight, I'm predicting he gets the W. The O's bats have came alive as of late and they're facing a young Nationals prospect. 6.0 IP, 6K's 3BB

Well shite, the game's been Delayed.

I got tons of flack last week in another thread saying he wasn't ready yet and his callup was too early. I hate to say that I'm right but we'll see.

While that may be the case to an extent, I think he is better off in the majors. The reason being is that Gausman is similar to the Nationals' Jordan Zimmermann...he goes almost exclusively with the fastball, change, and slider. With those pitches, you are better off being a pitch-to-contact guy.

However, Gausman has so much velocity on his fastball, he just needs to find the right balance and keep his fastball down in the zone.

And to prove my point, Gausman just had a 7-pitch inning against the top of the Nats lineup. He needs to keep that going!

ETA: He is at 40 pitches through 3.

He's held his own the past few innings. So far, 3.0 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, and no SOs. O's bat should get him some runs this inning with Jones, Davis and Wieters up to bat. Oh and he's 0 for 1 at the plate. Gotta love interleague play.

He took a healthy hack at one! That is probably the first time he has had an AB in 4 years!

Well a Chris Davis home run got me BINGO on my O's daily bingo card. 3-2 Nats.
