Time to eat some humble pie and maybe seconds. These youngsters are easily influenced from last year's success as well as the media spewing that the drop off won't be that much.
I don't care if a kid is 20 stars, there is a huge step up from Friday nights to Saturday's. There are exceptions but not many.
These players were not ready mentally and the staff did not have this team prepared. This was a classic case of the jv against the varsity, simple. Not unexpected to some degree. The good news is that this team will grow quickly now that the faults were on display. It's not the qb, oline, dline, secondary, or staff. It's the whole program as one that got exposed. Not mentally sharp is one of the biggest faults that isn't mentioned and I can tell you it's a real issue. Look for some real improvement over the coming weeks if they have all bought in. Look for 6~4 or 7~3 if we beat a&m at best. Part of it folks.

I didn't expect this year's team to be good. I do think the next two years they'll be really good.

Unless your name is Arik Gilbert. He looked like a man out there.
