I know there are a lot of experts on here. Can some expert please explain this to me= I remember reading quite often on this board last year that the fact that we were not playing any night games was because we were so good.

This year, however, all the "good games" are played at night due to TV. I am not saying this only pertains to us (though I was pissed last year that we had no night games).

So the question is, what changed between last year and this year as to why good games were in the 2:30pm time slot last year (regardless of networks) and now that had moved to 6-7pm (night time) slot this year? Was there some market research done that I am not aware of in the offseason?

CBS gave up a couple of "first game" rights to ESPN this year in exchange for CBS being able to show LSU v Alabama at night last year and this year.

ESPN only got first choice Sept 22 and took LSU at Auburn. CBS may have had to pick Bama at Mizzou because they agreed to or wanted to do one game from Columbia,MO and one from College Station (probably next week but could be the Mizzou at A&M game)
