Bingham's a right handed hitter.

Well damn. This whole time I thought he was a lefty to bring a little more balance to the lineup.

I think Larson and Milam had a lot of good contact that unfortunately went for outs. I think their BA will improve in the Spring.

I wouldn't read too much into Milazzo's surprisingly high OPS. Most of his singles that I saw were very weakly hit. He did manage to hit a homer one day which greatly increased his slugging. All of his other hits were singles and mostly not hard hit, like I said. I'm sure his average exit velo was still near the bottom. He just doesn't hit the ball hard. He's always had a great eye and of course excellent defense. I'm just pointing out that I think he's still the exact same player.

Braswell was a HUGE addition to this team.

re: Fall Baseball Cumulative Stats
IMO you don't have to have a high slugging % to be a productive hitter.

Milazzo had a good fall at the plate. Not sure what you expected from him.

re: Fall Baseball Cumulative Stats
I mean you kinda do have to be able to slug to be a good hitter though... I think the days of being fooled otherwise are kinda over. Even if you're a .300 hitter, your OPS is going to be barely playable at LSU without a slugging .400+.

I didn't expect anything from him. Just play defense, draw walks, and get some singles. I'm just saying, there's no way he'll ever ops over .900 in the regular season. It would be shocking if eclipsed .800. .750 and defense is what i expect.

As for pitching, Moffett and Bronzini both showed swing and miss stuff, but they have to get walks down.
Way down.

Also keep in mind Guidry, Coleman, and of course Noot didn't pitch at all in the fall.

Don't expect him to and don't care.

That is very RH heavy at the top of the lineup. I would imagine Jay would probably like to mix in a LH in there somewhere. My guess would be Bingham or Pearson in the 2 hole with the other in the 5 hole.

I am very impressed with Brown and pleasantly surprised with what he is doing at the plate, but I still give the edge to Frey right now in RF. Depending on how much they use Brown on the mound I guess. He didn't have the best fall on the mound but he was ranked as high out of high school because of his pitching ability. I would imagine if they plan to use Brown on the mound they might not have him out in RF. Maybe 1B/DH instead.

Plenty options and there is no correct answer at this point when it comes to the lineup or the rotation. Will be a fun beginning to the season to get looks at a lot of different guys and see who rises to the top.

It was just a knee jerk to the stats. Frey will obviously play, especially against RHP. Brown, Larson, and Mitchell will all probably play. Zeb and Mic probably, too. I think we get a lot of looks at RF and 2B before something really sticks. And, some rotation at C, 1B, and DH between Milazzo, Neal, Trav, Jones, and the youngsters.

re: Fall Baseball Cumulative Stats
Good stuff, thanks to all y'all providing me with baseball content this fall so I can get my fix. I'm still high on baseball from the NC. I just finally got around to watching that walk it off homemade documentary thing which got me re fired up. Anyway, I digress.

It will be interesting to see who emerges as the hitting leaders this year. A LOT of holes to fill, but a lot of talent to try to do so. I don't think we'll be the offensive Juggernaut we were last year, but should be pretty well rounded. Also I keep forgetting about Tommy tanks since he hasnt played in the fall.

I suspect we'll start the year as a pitching dominant team while the hitting rounds into shape. Gonna be a lot less 10RR games early on which means more time for guys to find some playing time. Pitching depth is definitely going to be tested with all the jam packed early season games. We may even »gasp« drop a few, and some will proclaim the season is over before it begins, and we may find some breathing room on the bandwagon. Will need it for the tail end of the season when the Jay machine gets steamrolling and the casuals look to jump back on
