Yeah. Innocent black men are shot, black people are underprivileged in society. People just need to grow up.

Its funny how so many conservative assholes will root for these african american football players but if they saw them on the streets they would cross to the other side.

And then when they leave they could give 2 shits about them. Teh same people are the ones who shite on LF when he wore the shirt, guess what the school needs the players more than your arse backward racist support.

So if you don't like it take your support somewhere else like the 1959 UK basketball team because this fan base would be so much better without you imbeciles.

my issue with protest is how does it help? I sincerely hope we all work under that flag to fix issues together.

the problem is done so they are late to the party there. how do they want to be part of the solution? I mean in a participation trophy world good job otherwise vapid response to serious issue.

Do we have to do this 2 days before the first game of the year. Why does this matter? This crap doesn't affect me except seeing it at the top of the page for the rest of the night and throughout tomorrow. So what if he sits down for a National Anthem, all that should matters is that you do it if you feel like it.

When African Americans get a fair shot at that oppurtunity, will you let them know?

The national anthem is basically representative of our form of government, the constitution, and the men and woman who have served to preserve the freedoms that Reid and Kaepernick are demanding. They are fricking protesting the very institution that offers them the opportunity to have what they want. If they have a problem with a certain police department, they should protest that. Instead, they are protesting the country as a whole. It's ridiculously stupid and it's deserving of all of the criticism it has received. I will loudly boo Reid if he's ever announced at an LSU football game. He's not a Tiger.

The 3rd verse of the national anthem is about killing runaway slaves, should we also revere that as well?

Public apology would be to everyone offended by his actions! If you weren't offended, then it wouldn't be to you. However, if you weren't offended by his actions, I have a book or two for you to read.....one is called D-Day by Stephen Ambrose.....or you could read The Dead and Those About to Die by John McManus. Might give your deuce a new perspective on why some might be incensed by these 49er shitheads action! God Bless America!!

If you dont understand the systemic and cyclical cycle of poverty that afflicts african americans, then you can't see past your own idiocracy.

The problem with saying that on this board is that 95% of the people who post here think blacks have more than a fair shot and your not going to change their minds. So you should quit arguing that point on here.

Ok, but what systemic actions are taking place? Who's fault is it that black men are shitty father's and the anger and violence in the black community is off the fricking charts?

Dumbest argument ever. 95% of people thought the world was flat so does that make it right? the south thought slavery was ok? does that make it right? The south is one of the most institutionalized regions where african americans get the worst opportunity. Look at EBR school system for christ sake. There's one decent school, my alma mater BRHMS and all the privileged flee to Private schools. It's so blatant its disgusting.

I totally agree. No problem if you disagree or lose respect for Reid. But the vitriol--the pure unadulterated hatred--expressed by some is ridiculous. And I posit more un American than Reid.

If your ability to comprehend this social issue boils down to such a simple and stereotypical dogma then you have no idea what the issue is.
