In his almost 3 seasons here, how many times have we faced double digit deficits (with many coming in the first half)? Isn't that concerning in itself, showing that BK cannot figure out how to get a team to play consistent four quarters of football?

I'm sure someone on this board can put together all the examples from the tenure so far. It's troubling to say the least.

Yes it is concerning. When it was pointed out, many tried to turn it into a positive and say that the team shows resilience and can come from behind. In reality it's the team not being prepared, and a comeback win against a average team turns into blowouts against good teams.

It's one of the main concerns I have about BK being able to win a championship here. If you fall behind double digits in 50% of games and you have to play 4 playoff games against top 10 teams, I don't feel great about winning all 4 of those games.

I'll just chart the double-digit losses:

2022: Tennessee (40-13), aTm (38-23), UGA (50-30)

2023: FSU (45-24), Bama (42-28)

2024: aTm (38-23), Bama (48-13)

The issue comes with looking at these teams (and we're going to set aside aTm and FSU for now) - 2022 UGA was a monster. We beat Bama on the way to that game and got rolled by a fantastic team (and at least we scored 4 TDs). 2022 Tenn was a Top 10 team with 2 wins over ranked opponents. They would beat Bama the following week and face UGA as the #1 in the country.

2023 Bama had dropped a game to Texas, but had beaten ranked Ole Miss and ranked Tennessee by 2 TDs.

2024 Bama came into our game ranked lower and with losses already to Vandy and Tennessee. Beat UGA and stomped Mizzou, but barely survived USCe.

No reason at all to get stomped by aTm twice or FSU to start the year last year.

The trend line is going in the wrong direction. If Kelly was adding value, the team would be getting better year-over-year and game-over-game. Certainly the occasional setback would be expected. If LSU had choked at College Station on the last series and fought hard against Bama and just come up short, the record/results would be the same, but folks would not be up in arms.

The performance over the last 6 quarters of football is inexcusable in year 3 with a HC and staff paid as generously as LSU coaches are.

Period. Full stop.
