I would assume literally every player on every single team in the country go through slumps...some at the same time as their teammates. So yes.

Last May the Chicago Cubs went into a hitting slump and they lost 7 out of 11 games in a two-week span, including losing two games 1-0. Theo Epstein was being questioned by the Chicago media if he knew what he was doing.

As I recall their season turned out pretty good last year.
quote:

As the Cubs began a three-game series against the Cardinals on Monday having scored just 19 runs in their previous seven games, those questions probably nagged President Theo Epstein and general manager Jed Hoyer more than any surrounding the health of Heyward.

Don't look now, but the Cubs limped into St. Louis having lost seven of 11, a slump as undeniable as it is understandable, no matter how much manager Joe Maddon liked the "feel" of playing the Giants. Just guessing Maddon won't like the feel in five months unless Epstein adds another element to an offense that lost 1-0 games twice in 11 days.

Lol every baseball player goes into a slump. It's baseball. The best of the best go into slumps. That's what makes this game so special

It's called variance. A player who averages .300 can easily hit .200 one week and .400 the next. With a nine-man lineup, it's really not hard to understand that several can hit down (and up) turns at the same time.

People don't realize how much you fail in baseball. If you hit Just 30 times out of 100, you are considered a star. That's getting out 70 times.

Players might go on a streak of hitting 10 out of 20 and then go 10 for 50, followed by 10 for 30. Idiots on here want people benched when they are on that 10 for 50 phase. See Kramer Robertson.

Cubs had a couple of significant hitting slumps last year and they won 103 games so I would say most do.

Those gorilla ball teams didn't seem to have many but those bats were ridiculous back then, homers were going out off that bat handles back then.

Yes.. it's baseball. Only sport that you can succeed at being 3/10. Lsu is starting a lot of young guys. The upperclassmen didn't step up and take those jobs. There are going to be growing pains, but this will benefit us in the long run.
