Did Guice miss some cutback opportunities?

Maybe it was just me, but it seemed like multiple times last night a hole opened up on the back side of some runs and Guice could have cut back against the grain for nice yardage. Instead he stuck with the design of the run and plowed into a pile of bodies for a minimal gain. Obviously, I don't have access to a wide cut of the game or a view from behind the line of scrimmage to see if a LB was clogging the lane but it seemed like his vision was a little off or he was pressing. Did anyone else notice this?

There was one for sure that he missed.

Yes several. He was trying to hard instead of just reacting.

One of the announcers pointed it out at one point during the game

For sure he missed one that could have been a nice gain. I’ve never played RB but at the speed and intensity of that game I’m sure there was a few split decisions he wishes he could have back. Running against Alabama is tough sledding. Even when there are holes open they seem to do an outstanding job of closing the gap or quickly chasing you down for an open field tackle.

A few. But the same goes for pretty much every starting RB in the nation though.

I thought Guice had a solid game. Ran extremely hard.

Gary said something along the lines 'the great ones make that cut'. On Charks miss on that under thrown ball, Gary said something along the lines 'the special ones adjust'. Listening to his commentary last night was insane. He was terrible. On Bama's lone penalty that was most definitely a hold: "LSU caught a great break".

He can get away with hesitating and looking for holes against inferior teams but he ain't getting away with it vs. Bama or in the NFL. DWilliams deserved more touches than he got. DW trucks the line of scrimmage.

This is why I mute the television and listen to Blair and Moreau.
