Alabama converted 4 3rd and longs, so that is a somewhat valid criticism. But, Alabama was also only 6-15 on 3rd downs.

LSU's defense also had 2 4th down stops, 3 3 & outs, 2 turnovers, and allowed barely 50% completions. But if you just want to focus on the negative, then you be you.

a few yrs ago very few of our opponents were lining up 5 wide on these plays. Now everybody is.

Our lack of pass defense on these plays though is mostly due to little to no pass rush. Believe it or not Bama has the same problem. 80% of their sacks have been by LBs and DBs. So when you drop 7-8 and rush the rest and they get zero pressure we get picked apart.

correct, yet the moron you were talking to cant understand that pass rushers are at a premium... hell just look at the nfl...thye are making bank because youre basically relying on that one guy to be your sack buy... its no different now in college... thats why we are loading up on them... we could get 3 elite guys in this class... all of them will be on the green team with one DE in the middle.. imagine 4 Klavons coming at you on 3rd down... jeez...
