I guess a deep-seated, inbred need for incest (that produced the Pissers, Gumps, Volenqueers and Athens hipsters) has just reduced mental capabilities and eliminated common sense from their ranks. Just guessing.
Either that or they are just scared of the Monster being built on the Bayou.
