The bigger question is when or IF he will get there? Just taking more repetitions without meaningful coaching does not cause significant improvement. While JJ appears to have natural athletic ability, he does not appear to have natural QB skills (throwing motion and pocket presence most notably) and if not seriously coached up, and a commitment on his part to spend the additional time watching film, working with his receivers, etc., then we are in for another long year...

this....

but I think if this happens again, he's just gonna say frick it...here you go lee...or garrett...

JJ is an athlete playing qb.
That may work out pretty well at places like destrehan hs or a small college, but it wont cut it if you want to be an upper echelon qb in the sec.
sorry.

It manes JJ isn't getting it done and LM is scared of his team gettin pissed by jerking JJ's arse even though he like what Lee is doing better! It also means that C garrett can't compete with Lee at backup!

I think this is a read between the lines type thing. He isn't ready for the pressure to be put on him just yet over choosing Lee if he felt he was better.

Remeber, we have a new coach (Gonzo) back there and he is putting info in Les' ear daily about which QB is capable of what. He has no pre-conceived thoughts, only what he says happening in the NOW at the position. He also hears from his receivers on every play and could EASILY influence the position status to the OC and Miles.

Lee never had this coaching before and was way more highly regarded as a "true" qb coming out. With the right instruction, he may be able to absorb more than JJ and actually improve beyond JJ ability. Who knows at this point though?
