I knew Daryl, he was a standout at Nicholls. A very likable guy, always with a smile on his face and a joke. Excellent baseball player; helped Nicholls beat then #1 LSU in Thibodaux. Opened up the game with a triple and scored on a sac fly; 1-0

Condolence's to his brother John and their family in this terrible time.

Only reason he didn't play at LSU was because at the time(1982), U-High didn't field a school baseball team and he played Amer Legion ball in summer, they were only offering to kids that played HS ball.

Considering he went to UHS. I'd say this deserves to be posted on the rant.

Prayer sent.

Thanks for posting.

I attended UHS with Daryl and his older brother John and knew them well. Daryl was an outstanding athlete and a good man. A very sad day.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Hamilton family.

Prayers to his family. His mother was a teacher in Baton Rouge, and I have fond memories of her stories about Daryl. Heart-felt condolences to them. They are a great bunch.

Had him as my camp instructor at Skip's baseball camp in 1984 while he was still playing at Nicholls (or maybe he had just completed his senior year, don't remember exactly) because I played OF and he was an outfielder. Taught me a lot about how to play the outfield and was a nice guy. Still have his autograph (and Boots Garland) from the end of that camp.

I feel terrible for his family. I've been pretty sad about it all afternoon.
