Adjust to the timing ?

I am surprised DD is making a comment like that, it's not even close to being a material issue.

A couple of 7v7 days and he'll be good on whatever speed differences there may be between the WR groups.

I like DD too but sometimes he misses wildly.

I think it will take a while for Mettenberger to get his timing down with the receivers and to learn the play book
I personally don't think our QB with 3 years of experience has either of these down yet

So, according to DD, Mett will be starting game three against MOO state. That cool. As long as he get some live reps in the first 2 games.

May the best man win the starting job. I think Mett wins the starting job though.

I have also received several emails asking if I believe Zach Mettenberger will win the starting quarterback job in Spring practice and my answer is no. I think it will take a while for Mettenberger to get his timing down with the receivers and to learn the play book and I believe that Les Miles' loyalty to his upperclassmen will keep Jordan Jefferson as the starter to open the season. However, I do believe Mettenberger has a good chance of starting by the time SEC play starts.

Well it depends.....................

Will we see the Jordan Jefferson that we saw in the Cotton Bowl, next season? If so, Jefferson will start. If we see the Jordan Jefferson from the game against Tennessee this past season, then I can't see how Mettenberger wouldn't get a shot at starting.

Mett and JJ are on nearly equal playing fields. JJ has a slight advantage having played (not very well most of the time) in this conference. they will both be learning a new offense, and mett has to find his timing with the receivers, but so does JJ, they were not on the same page very often. Mett isnt a scrub he was recruited to play in this league. That alone doesnt make him great but people who know the SEC and what it takes to play QB in this league thought he could make it and I think that is why colleges pay them so much.

Bottom line competition brings out the best in players. worst case we have a better JJ at QB next year, but i hope im wrong and Mett is a beast that Bitch Slaps that dummy off the field!
