Crowd control on victory hill.

They have really choked the passageways to get to stadium and Pmac on Saturdays, especially when players and band are walking down. Then to keep a barricade up and force everyone to pass in a 4' area was dumb.

Get there earlier. It's always like it. We are there to see the band/team and you people want to drive literally next to the stadium 3 hours before kickoff.

That is the center of the pre game festivities it's going to be packed in there.

Nope. Was just trying to get my kids to Pmac and have been make the same trek from parade ground area to stadium area for decades. Campus keeps extending the fencing by journalism building closer to sidewalk limiting the amount of space for walk through.
Good for you waiting by a fence for three hours.

I agree it was a huge pain but it's all in the name of player, coach and fan safety. The alternative is probably abandon the walk down.

Get there before they close the street, band came down at 4pm, so get there before that and you can walk in the street, no crowds.

There are steps leading to the stadium in between the Journalism building and those dorms behind the East side of the stadium, use those. Those barricades are a necessity for the band to make the march down the hill for the safety of both band members and fans. In the mid 90s, there were no barricades and fans were damn near run over by band members because they refused to push back

LSU is making a lot of unforced errors with the LSU fan base these days. Whether by accident or design when you "over-engineer" the crowd experience (could be an amusement park, could be a music festival, could be a sporting event) you run the risk of de-personalizing the experience and making people feel like cash cows. I'm thinking LSU is straddling the line right now. At some point people start bailing. A few at first and then en masse. You have to keep room for a little magic. You can't orchestrate the fun out of it.
