You guys see 51-15 and say, "thank God for Les Miles." I see the disorganized mess we are on the field and wonder how much better we could have been had we not settled for Les Miles as Nick Saban's replacement.

given a choice, I'd much rather lose to an SEC team, than lose OOC
if you lose OOC & win SEC, you still have a shot at SEC rings & BCS hopes (due to the strength of the SEC)
That's like saying you'd much rather lose to Bama than UT. The initial goal every year should be to win the SEC west, then the SEC ship, then the BCS. They have to be done in that order.

I know I do. I see Ssban's record at LSU & it looks like this:
Year 1: 8-4 - Bad
Year 2: 10-3 - Good
Year 3: 8-5 - Bad (Clearly in Decline, Mediocre & in a Downward Spiral)
Year 4: 13-1 - Good
Year 5: 9-3 - Bad (4 game Dropoff, Clearly in Decline, "Goose we're in a Jetwash I can't control it, I can't reach the eject button!" )
Overall Saban Experience: 3 Bad seasons & 2 Good seasons.

Based off your opinion perhaps, but no objective measuring approach supports such a conclusion.

The truth is that Saban doesn't matter. Saban's record at LSU has nothing to do with the level of incompetent performance (in all aspects) exhibited by CLM coached teams the past couple years. And the performance is not getting any better. That's the point. Saban's record is insignificant.

fitting response when you have no logical comeback.

Hey Miley Ray?
Why don't you go ahead & link this up or explain. Obviously you believe you have some kind of knowledge on this, so give us an idea where this knowledge comes from.
You puffed out your chest about about an SEC Coach wh is 51-15 being unwanted by everyone...now back it up.

with better o-line play LSU wins atleast 10 games last year. Not bad considering the level of "incompetent performance" in every single aspect of the game. Your ability to see things worse than they actually are is remarkable.

LSU was #17 in the Nation. Who exactly are you measuring this "Incompetence" against?
Which active Football Coaches average 10.2 Wins per season or better in the SEC?

Name one game last year (other than AU) where LSU played a well-planned, well-organized, well-disciplined, well-coached, hard fought game with very good overall performance. I'm not saying the players aren't to blame some too, but we know it all falls on the shoulders of the coach.
Are you really going to argue that Miles has had this team perform at a high level the past 2 seasons? Really?

Performance oriented vs Results oriented
Crappy performance will catch up with the results. It's already started.
(Bertman used to preach it all the time & it's spot on)

Name one SEC west team that would trade straight up for Miles right now.
For God's sake, CLM is a national laughing stock. His clock mismanagements are legendary. His lack of player development is well noted. ON & ON.
Go read some other SEC msg boards. It's pretty obvious that they want Miles to stay at LSU for a long time.

You missed my point. You said LSU football was incompetent in every single aspect of the game. I simply pointed out that with better play in just one area LSU wins atleast 10 games.

Going into '08, Lee and Jefferson were the 3rd and 4th string QBs. Because of you-know-who and Hatch getting hurt they had to start. Do you really think that had nothing to do with the way the last two years ended up?

just answer the question
it's about the most important question that can be asked
"Is the current coach getting any where close to the most out of his team?"
(Any unbiased viewer of every game knows the answer, even Miles' own family.)
also, in what way do JJ & JL have anything to do with the performance of the defense, the OL, the coaches?
I really don't think some of you can comprehendthe concept of performance oriented vs results oriented.

The past 2 Seasons has become boring. Overused cliche' by combo-pack Nuts4LSU/Jawja/The312 & yourself. You're trying to say a team ranked in the Top 25 is a Bad thing? The performance level was judged to be at a high level. 17th Best in the Nation.
103 Division 1A Teams failed to achieve LSU's performance level.

Saban:
The last 2 years the stars aligned for ole Nicky. If there was ever a time when the SEC was down (SEC standards) it's been the last 2 years. LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, UGA, Tenn, USC. None of those schools have fielded teams in the last 2 years that was able to compete. Before LSU Nick Saban didn't win anything. Also Colt McCoy goes down in the first quarter or we may not be having any discussion. Everyone forgets that Utah waxed that arse 2 years ago in the Sugar Bowl.
Just as bad as not giving Miles any credit are the idiots who don't give Saban any credit. Saban just went 2 regular seasons undefeated in the SEC. In that time the great Les Miles lost 8 games. How often does an SEC coach have a run like that? How often does a coach build 2 different teams into powerhouses and win 2 national championships with both of them? Saban is a dam good coach. Les is not a bad coach, but he has got some work to do to put himself in the class of a Saban. What Saban has done the last 2 years is special in the SEC. Even people who don't like Saban's arrogance (like me) have to give the man his due.

It is the exact opposite.
The results of the games garnered a 17th ranking.
(& that's good for you, obviously)
If the performance continues to slide, like it has, the results will also. It's pretty simple logic that really seems to escape you.
(it truly boggles my mind how anyone can argue that LSU's performance the past 2 years is acceptable or, in your eyes, to be praised)

You know good and well that nobody, outside of Les Miles, knows whether he is getting the most out of his team. You think you know how good the team could be because you look at how a player was ranked coming out of high school, which is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not saying Les is the best college football coach in the nation, but I'm saying some of you guys are making conclusions that are unfounded. You're looking for reason to get rid of a coach that has done a good job up to now.
