Commitment

As an American and combat Veteran, I applaud the young men and women who commit unconditionally to protect our country.
They do so without press, cameras and fanfare, they honor their commitment even if it means going to war.
Unlike these young men who choose the limelight make a commitment and do what is good for them and no one else.

Because no one cares about them relative to how they care about high school football players.

frick a high school kid for trying to do what is best for his career and not considering other people!

While I appreciate yours, along with everyone else who has served in the military service to this country.
The comparison of committing to the military and committing to a university for a sport is not close to the same.
But still

As much as I wish the military would get more publicity for the great things we do rather than the few shitbags that give us a bad reputation at times, especially the Marine Corps...
There's no reason to sit here and fault a kid for making a decision and then second-guessing it.
I'm pretty sure all of us who have been in the military second-guessed our decision at some point, but knew that we couldn't get out of it (some of us would've if given the opportunity).
If anything, I say more power to these kids for making sure that whatever they're getting themselves into for the next four years of their life is the right decision for them.
And considering that was my first post in a while.... Time to update my rank insignia on my sig!
