for a school paying a coach 4 million a year it is

Then LSU really got a bargain in 2007 when Les won it all while only making between 1 and 2 million. His contract called for him to get Saban-esque money when he won a national championship. He did, LSU lived up to the contract and that's where we stand.

Then is that why it goes from one person's comments (Richard) to multiple (higher ups)? Kinda of makes one think that someone has an agenda and changes context and content to fit their story.
Very well could be. I wouldn't have posted this, but if I had, I would also have edited as he did and make it much more vague.

Regardless if it's true or not, it doesn't mean much.

My whole point is that everyone has an agenda and the OP is no different and by editing his post's content and context, he proves that he has an agenda. I guess he was hoping someone wouldn't call him out on the drastic difference between the original and edited post. Going from one person making a comment to multiple people making the comment totally changes the context of the orginal post.

the players are 17-9 over the last two seasons, 8-8 in the SEC and have only beaten one team that finished in the top 25 .. that being #25 Georgia Tech ..

See, it is the players fault.

So your contention is that Meyer's situation in 2007 equates to Miles situation in 2008 and 2009?

That's just fricking dumb.

You know UF had a Heisman trophy winner and lost 4 games by a combined 25 points that season. LSU's first loss in 2008 was by 30 points.

Some of you guys are a joke.

make no mistake LSU will always compete with those 2 teams(Fla. and Bama) because of the talent level there still at, but when all is said and done, they will find a way to lose to them because of the difference in coaching.

And it was a dumb comparison. Something you seemingly just pulled out of your arse to hope it would correlate.

It doesn't.

List UF's record the year before and the year after Meyer had that "terrible" 9-4 2007 season. Meyer has lost 10 games TOTAL at UF. LSU had lost 9 the last 2 seasons.

And I'm not arguing Les Miles this or Les Miles that. I am stating that your comparison is idiotic.

how many teams would fired a coach after two bad season when he won a NC before that?

A coach who went 11-1 and barely missed the NC one year went 6-5 in the regular season the following year (lost a bowl to finish 6-6), then went 8-4 the year after that, and got fired. But that was at Ohio State, one of the true traditional powers of college football...where mediocrity doesn't cut it. Of course, after pulling the trigger so quickly and unjustifiably, their program just went straight into the toilet...they absolutely dominated the Big Ten, won a NC, played for two others, and went to a BCS bowl almost every year.

It's the Brady priniciple. After a championship season, create a situation so shitty that it's practically impossible not to improve it slightly the next year, and claim you're moving in the right direction.

My opinion is that the majority of backlash you see from fans now has little to do with 2008. It has more to do with 2009 performance and the Ole Miss debacle added on top of the 2008 season.

Meyer had a 9-3 season also at UF. Then followed it with 13-1. Then had a 9-4 season (4 losses by 25 points total), but then followed it up with 13-1. Then went 13-1 AGAIN.

Miles followed up an 8-5 (3-5 SEC season) with a 9-4 season with many lackluster performances and a management meltdown for the ages versus Ole Miss.

That's my opinion on why many fans are seemingly negative. But like I said, I am not here to bash Miles. I just thought the Meyer comparison was a total reach.
