For my money, Thomas Davis of UGA was the best hitting safety the SEC has seen in some time.

He is great against pocket qbs and wrs though.
as well as various TE's that he's knocked out and repeatedly stuffing RB's at scrimmage on blitzes, don't know what the frick you've been looking at.

every game he played at LSU. Not saying he wasn't a good hitter, but there are and have been better at delivering massive shots to RB/Tebow types

I would agree with that, some have the weight to back it up, Sean Taylor was much bigger than Laron and hit like a truck, but pound for pound Laron is pretty tough.

Yep.

Where Landry excelled above other great safeties was his ability to come up in run support, defend the entire field, and help out someone else who had been beat. His makeup speed was astonishing.

laron is on another level than coleman. He is faster, hits harder, and definetely a more sure tackler

Can someone find the picture of Tebow taking on like four LSU defenders in 2006, including LaRon?

Then could someone try to find the pic of Harry knocking Tebow out of bounds by himself?

give me a break. comparing laron and jamarcus. jamarcus gained weight. laron gained a couple helmet sizes, a couple shoe sizes, and the body of a body builder.

Coleman does hit harder than Laron. Laron made a living hitting stationary quarterbacks and helpless receivers coming over the middle. Also to the Laron taking steroids things, im not sure if he took steroids or not but his room was full of different products from gnc so he was on alot of shite.

Laron missed MANY tackles by not wrapping up and just going for the headhunt. I recall several 1st downs he allowed by doing that, keeping the other team in the game. Arguable, some of those missed tackles probably cost us a game, at the very least a TD.
