Chavis is about the last coach you should be worried about leaving. He's the highest paid DC in the country. Aggies are not offering him 2 million a year.

I'm pretty sure Chavis did the exact same thing in his last contract extension. He waited until he got back from the bowl game and then signed it.

I mean, if they're offering him 2 million to be DC and we're still only giving him 1.3, he may indeed jump.

Do we need to pass the collection plate?

I kind of agree.

No information, just reading between the lines. But, the fact that he hasn't signed yet combined with Miles' very strange answer to the question last week has me paying attention.

I don't know if you heard, but he Ags are offering around 1.8 and Muschamp just got like 1.6. Chavis is only getting offered 1.3.

Not sure why you're laughing. See what happened last time we lost a good DC and miles made yet another clown decision. (08)

Losing Chavis forces Miles to have to make a hire late in the process. Who would we even get?

Money is not the problem. LSU will give him a raise if he wants it. We know what's at stake. LSU could potentially be looking at a NC run next year if the juniors stay...they're not going to let him leave over money when we already have the highest paid staff. It's not like we lack the funding and if anyone is about the last person you want to see leave it's Chavis. He's not going anywhere. Don't worry about it.

Don't have to take my word for it but he wants to be up around 1.6 for multi years (similar to what Muschamp just got and what Cam is getting paid next season)

frick pay the man!!! He is worth more than Boom, his defenses have been consistently higher ranked than Boom's

If Alleva lets Chavis slip away because of a couple extra hundred thousand $$ he (alleva) seriously needs to gtfo as our AD.
