Everyone knew O promised Burrow the job. Who would risk transferring to a program to “compete” knowing they could have went to a program to start immediately.

what the hell are you talking about? when it comes to the QB position NO ONE ON THIS BOARD HAS ANY CONFIRMED INFORMATION ABOUT THE QB COMPETITION.
no one saw the scrimmage; no one attended any practices (except some basic drills).
it APPEARS the coaches made a decision on the starter; that HAD TO HAPPEN. and they are the only ones that know shite about what has happened to date.

I don't think O had to promise Burrow anything. All he had to do was watch the spring game to know that he was better than the other qb's already on the roster.
