Depends how good the offense is. Ball control is what counts.

Hell, that 2003 defense didn't even give up less than 140 points that season, if I did my math right.

I hope so. Several teams were able to do so last year.

I think you could argue our losses last year were due to the D. Both games the offense put up 28 points in regulation, then scored TDs on the first several possessions of OT.

Hopefully we don't have the injury bug this year - I think that played a part in that stretch of the season for the D.

GREAT POST & GREAT QUESTION

LSU gave up around 19 ppg last year. We were terrible in the last half of the season when we lost Alexander & a 100% Dorsey ... especially against the run.

OPINION/PREDICTION

The 2008 LSU Tigers have the potential to be ...

THE BEST DEFENSE IN LSU HISTORY

I believe we can hold teams well under 14 ppg average x 12 games = 168 points total / maximum.

A GREAT 12-GAME GOAL WOULD BE 100 POINTS

Realistically, this would be 8 ppg ... unheard of in the BCS era.

An achievable 12-game goal = 150 points

If there is a team that could do it, it's LSU.

I am predicting a healthy defense all year long with a 12.5 ppg scoring defense that allows only 150 points ... a full Touchdown improvement over last year.
