Talk about a staff of weekend starters in 1991. Ogea, Byrd, Sirotka, and Greene closing, and the following 2 years weren't bad either.

Your number wouldn't surprise me. The thing I remember most were the announcers and their consistently increasing "awe factor." IIRC, at one point they just kinda chuckled at their collectively inadequate descriptions - they'd run out of flowery or witty descriptions of this PHENOM performance they knew they wouldn't soon see again.

Ok. I forgot how big a part he played throughout the season, or that he'd started against A&M in Omaha. I do remember Scott Schultz being the guy who stopped the bleeding to keep LSU in it before Walker hit his grand slam.
What a fun CWS that was. Walker, my old HS classmate Jim Greely coming out of nowhere with 2 HRs against Daniel Cho, battling the Dirtbags in 3 games, Sirotka, and of course Laxton's gem.
