I'm guessing he will redshirt and then probably start in two or three years or four years. He has some pretty stiff competition in front of him, and who knows he may get some pretty stiff competition behind him subsequently. Starting is never a foregone conclusion or guaranteed. He will have to earn it.

If you weren't actually in the stadium it's hard to comment on this subject. He did not have his best game all of the game plan was the cam Akers show. The only pass plays called to throw the ball down the field will called when cam Akers was at quarterback. Other than that he handed the ball off 8 or 10 times to cam Akers and the offensive line had no idea how to pass block. They don't throw the ball in North Mississippi. You're right his production was not that good in that game but the New Orleans the rest of the offense either. He will flourish at LSU under coach Canada. I promise. And by the way the other day at Spring practice at his high school he weighed in with the team and he was 6'4" 188 Pounds. We have a number of cornerbacks receivers and safeties that are all about the same size when they were freshmen. Nobody was worried about them being too small.

Next year the QB competition will be on to replace Etling though and I think one of those two will end up being our leader (sorry Scott fanboys). Looking forward to seeing his career play out

Im a Mcmillan/Scott/Narcisse/Brennan fan. Didn't see anything that would have given anyone an edge this spring. Scott performed well this spring. Mcmillan too. Both were understandably ahead of LN. But we will see.

Yes i get a little tired of the sunshine pumpers myself. Guys hoping that this guy will get the guy. Give me a real competition, and the best guy.

If he's at 200 pounds + for fall camp, he'll not redshirt. He's too advanced a QB to sit.

Wadda ya know, LSU finally has a freshman QB that's a real QB, not a running back trying to play the QB position.

Who was a running back?

you can tell that from that shot? the neck up? he's at 190 now. When he first starts in 2018, he'll be at 215. When he leaves, probably 220-225

190? Lmao

Have you still not learned yet that qb play at the high school level doesn't mean one is going to step into a major conference and be ready to go right away?

He may indeed work out in fall camp to where he can be #2 or #3, but my money is def. on a redshirt year. Which isn't a bad thing

He's a pumper who seems just know who the guy will be. Doesnt seem to know much about football at all.

He played at a 3A boarding school. A little different than SEC football. Not trying to be a downer but we can't judge him off what he did in high school

Thanks you

I watched him at the MS-AL game and he played terrible. I'm not trying to down him because to be honest I really want him to start over Etling but some people are making this kid sound like the next Peyton Manning and he isn't there yet

I saw the same thing. But I know this stuff can be up and down. Potential is there. This notion that any guy is the 2nd coming is crazy.

He ripped though our 5A two time defending Alabama state champion defense dude. And we have college players all over that defense

First, they are a 4a school. Second, his team played nothing but 5a and 6a competition from La Ms and Al in all pre district games all 3 of his years and beat most of them. Third, every single team they play in MS district, playoff's and state championship games are Public Schools with Public School athletes and he and his team did pretty good for the three years he started. If Brennan played in the Catholic league in NO with that level of athletes around him he would have had even more production than he had in MS, not less...

Well Semjackass (BRAVEHEART) doesn't want a competition, he wants an anointing. Seeing as how all the melonated QBs in his world can't process information quickly and are actually running backs. He also prefers "up north" o-lineman who he claims are also smarter and process information faster. He only roots for a small percentage of the team.

Does Saint Stanislaus still practice corporal punishment?

Is it still the school parents threaten to send their boys to when they're bad?

Every time I acted up as a child I was told that if I kept it up that's where I'd be going. One year they actually followed through and I went there for a year.

I did get "the strap" a couple of times while I was there.

The culture shock of going there as an adolescent and being around some of the other students was indescribable. To put it in perspective, one of the kids who wasn't even bad and who got picked on is now a convicted murderer (Frank Luker, Goodbee Quick-Stop shooting).

Is it still like that or has it changed?

MS 4A enrollment (school size) is equal to Louisiana 3A.

Since he didn't play in NO Catholic League, we will reserve the judgment.

We would have won easy too without the 5 turnovers but I am judging his performance not that of the team. He is the real deal. Archie manning and Brett farve played at little high schools in Mississippi too, and they had no problem at college and pro level
