When I posted this, we hadn't broken the 26 game streak yet. Now, here we are.
Also, let's add to this list the 1989 Fighting Tigers. They were an up and coming team, having gone to their first two CWS in 1986 and 1987. They were sent to the College Station regional, where the Mighty Aggies were, by the time we played them, an incredible 58-5 (having never lost two games in a row all season). Now, they didn't have an outrageous streak going, but when we faced them in our first elimination game, they were at 10 straight.
Then, LSU (and Ben McDonald) happened. I know Big Ben would like to forget what happened in the CWS elimination game, but for this weekend, he and the Tigers dominated. These were the building blocks of what was to come.
