and yeah that's opinion, but so is this committee's decision
The only difference being
- the committee probably had people who have forgotten more football stuff than most of us (including you) know.
-and hence, whose conclusions probably have more truth to it than the rant's
- you(rant) are too close emotionally to the lsu program and might be (and probably ) are biased by what you see and what you don't see (trees/forest)
- your example of lavalais and PP (again LSU players) are not the right ones because of the exact same emotional reason.
I am sure fans of other programs have the same reaction to their players not being winners/selected
but we surely take the cake at doing the exact opposite (for the sake of internet BADness and winning online arguments)
-downplaying our own championship (season and titles)
- mocking and deriding our players who win trophies and awards.

gotta love the Ranters who have absolutely no fricking clue about how he truly performed. seriously, some of you have relied solely on the PERCEPTIONS of coach potatoes, actually watched .00001% of the plays he was involved in, and render your expert opinions.
There are some here who do have somewhat of an idea (including myself) and I would dare say he was a bit off of last year's performance. BUT, he was still performing at a high level.
I am sure some of those voting do consider him being our Tim Tebow as far as humanity, but his performance absolutely played a role.

It doesn't take a coach to see someone struggling.
how many plays did you grade him out on? you know nothing outside of the obvious replays they force feed you which are few as related to Ciron's performance.

exactly I will always be a Ciron Black fan. I will never forget what he did for the little boy who was in the hospital in Memphis. He is a class guy all the way. But I think he won this award based on his career, cause its obvious his knee problems have caught up wth him.
substantiate this position. I specifically watched him this season on a significant amount of plays (yes, I actually do this) and did NOT see much favoring of any knee injury.

+1 Ciron didnt deserve it any more than Obama deserved the Nobel. But I see no harm in him winning it!
dude, I have read some of your posts in the past related to the oline and, Podnuh, you have been way off base.....sorry to burst your bubble. Stick to NCAA 2009.

Black led LSU with over 70 knockdowns this season while grading out over 85 percent in all 12 of LSU’s games.
....and yet many of you knuckleheads knock him.
BTW, good post Sid.

They must mean because he blocked LSU from having a productive offense this season.

That is a frickin joke. He got tossed around like a freakin ragdoll for most of the season.
No he did not. The joke is you fancying yourself knowledgeable of oline performance. I watched him on MANY plays and believe he played very well.......you?

Does him winning make them wrong? I wonder

Pretty good to win this award, considering he was a fullback. I wonder how many other fullbacks have been the outstanding blocker in the SEC?

WTF is with this stupid logical question when we are discussing the idiocy in giving an LSU Tiger an undeserved award.
and YOU are qualified to judge for the award?!?!?!?! STFU!

Prom, you've been really annoying lately. Ciron has played poorly all year. You and I both know it.
Hey, frick you Ellie. Want to know something? I know 10000000000000000x more than you do about being an olineman and CB did NOT play poorly.
Posted on 12/10/09 at 9:12 am to CharlesLSU
What is amazing is that he graded out at over 85% in all twelve games. This means that 85% was his lowest grade. That is an AWESOME grade for an O-lineman. Great year Ciron!!!

No he did not.
You're right. He didn't get tossed around. He whiffed on so many blocks, the D-linemen didn't NEED to toss him around.
Ciron Black this year played marginally better than Karnell Stewart played at RT in 2007, and that was pretty fricking horrible.
I'm not at all saying he's a bad kid or that he shouldn't get a shot at the next level. But having a beast like Herman Johnson playing next to you for the first 3 years of your career can hide a multitude of flaws.

it's hard for me to believe that we had the best blocker in the SEC when our OL sucked (after returning 3/5 starters)
and yeah that's opinion, but so is this committee's decision
just like the group who decided that the best CB in the SEC shouldn't make the first team all SEC
Slow, you a bloated internet/draft geek who has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayy too much time on your hands.....that's it. Why not focus on being a decent lawyer one day.

Look at his grade. Over 85% every game, which was best in SEC = Award

I frickING WATCHED HIM.....CIRON BLACK THAT IS UP UNTIL THE CAMERAS DRFITED AWAY. DID YOU?!
Besides, on a few occasions our young QB either held the ball for an eternity or failed to understand the concept of stepping up into the pocket.
