He's right and I totally agree about Gonzales being the OC in waiting. I believe the reason Crowton is staying is b/c Gonzales has no experience as an OC.

I think you are kinda right...but here are some options:
option 1:
although Gonzalez has not had the title,he has experience;however, Miles may be trying to cover his butt so if something goes wrong, no one can say that he did not bring an OC....this way it all falls on Crowton still.

option 2:
It is all done....Crowton either has a JOB IN WAITING, or is being allowed to find one.

option 3:
Miles is covering Crowton's butt by bringing in someone who can save Crowton for now and quiet the Miles' negatigers (used loosely) for now as well.

option 4:
Crowton will be fired and MIles + Gonzalez will run the Off.

Just listened back - he didn't say "OC in waiting" ... although I thought that's what he was saying.

Crowton is in a no win situation. LSU's offense will be much better next year with JJ reaching twenty years old and getting his second Spring Training under his belt. He improved much this year with a poor OL. I think next year's OL will be more dominant because of the size and athleticism of those coming in.

If we do great with the offense, ranters will proclaim that it is because of Gonzales. Reuben Randle is a monster and will dominate next year. Tolliver will be a senior and we have others that are up and coming.

Do readers forget that with an experienced QB how good LSU was in 2007 on offense? The experts were saying that LSU's offense had teams guessing what is next. Ohio STate was lost.

Yet, the starting left tackle was a Miles recruit, the tight end was dominant and a miles recruit, Perilloux was a factor and a miles recruit. What Defensive player dominated more than Ricky Jean-Francois, a Miles recruit.

Simple things happen. USC and Oklahoma start freshmen QB's and all of a sudden they are just average. ARe their coaches worse this year?

I look to see a great year with 20 redshirt freshman and others coming up.

Miles may be trying to cover his butt

People keep saying this, but I don't buy it. Miles can't cover his butt anymore. It's win or get the frick out. He can't blame it on coaches anymore. If he keeps Crowton, it's not going to be because he thinks he can throw him under the bus after next year. It's going to be because he thinks he's not going to have to throw him under the bus.
