Somewhat inexperienced yes, but so much speed & aggression. And the best part is that (with the exception of Minter), they all need to be looking over their shoulders or they will be replaced. Perform on Saturdays or else.

The young and talented freshmen will push Barrow, Tahj, Welter, and Muncie to play their best, period.

Definitely addition by subtraction this year. Major upgrade in athleticism at the LB level of our D.

Nice post, dummy and yes, I agree, really looking forward to watching Taj. He's a very complete LB, and at 200 pounds

Baker fell off some last year, was expecting more. We knew what we were getting from Hatcher and Francois (i.e. - not much). I think we have some better players/depth there now, but maybe about the same production for this year due to experience.

I think LB play is going to b markedly improved this year. Last year, barely serviceable, this year, a strength. I mean actually making plays & having Verne Lunquidst butcher his name over and over (Dirkson) So much so, that possible we see more base defense w/all 3 instead of nickel, offensive scheme dependent of course. Oh, and

If he's LISTED at 205, how much you think he really weighs? But seriously, he can tackle & not worried in the slightest bout his run defense. I think he held his own against Bama

One of the main things Les pointed out about Tahj, was his coach-ability. He said that TJ makes every adjustment necessary when suggested by Chief and improves with every practice. I love players that can learn under a coach and improve because of the coaching.

I think Chief liked Taj from day one. Didn't he recruit him? There's a reason he wanted a 190lb backer, he liked what he saw. And yes, always hearing about his coachability. LB is one of those positions I enjoy watching. Seeing them diagnose a play, take on a blocker, shed him, and fly to the ballcarrier with bad intentions Season, please get here

He hit Trent Richardson in the hole, from the side, and pulled him backwards in the Nov game last year. I never doubted his size, after seeing that play.
