Beatles you can't even make halfass sense. At least Tiger20, who I argue with like clockwork but respect, can bring up points that are valid. You haven't "cross-examined" anyone and all you are showing is your disdain for the absence of the John Brady era. I suppose you enjoyed those Purdue and UAB tourney games? I suppose you liked teams that folded like one egg puddings in big game situations.
Brady had 2 great years and 2 good ones. The other ones were either NIT or sub .500.
For a cheap arse hire, he didn't do bad at all by allowing Collis Temple, Jr. to assemble an AAU team and keep it together in college. Without Temple, Brady would have been playing and starting both Magnum Rolle and Chris Johnson as freshmen and eventually running them off.

Ok, so the point of this thread was to spread excitement about next season and to tell those not in the know to expect great things from Malcolm White...kid can leap out the building. As usual, anything basketball-related turns into a Brady apology fest by Beatles.

I'd love to believe that Pisces but you're counting on some kids who've never played at this level and kids returning who have alot of improvement to make in a short time for that to be true.
I'm not even sure we make the tourney next year. I see us as a bubble team probably on the outside looking in.
I think we shine the next year when White and Warren are seniors.

Ditto, you can't minimize losing Taz, the guy can score. Something most guys on this team can't besides Spencer. Warren has hit the wall in SEC play and can't stay out of foul trouble.
If most of the freshman aren't impact players next year, we're two years away from the tourney.

But to play more to your hand:
Riddle me this:
2003, Brady has the following starting lineup to start the year (and I saw game one as they destroyed Ricky Blanton's Nicholls team)
g - Torris Bright (4 year starter)
g - Collis Temple III (3 year starter and 4 year letterman)
f - Ronald Dupree (3 year starter and 4 year letterman)
f - Jaime Lloreda (JUCO transfer...all-american)
c - Shawnson Johnson (left team soon after)
plus:
Brad Bridgewater, Xavier Whipple, Antonio Hudson
Now, when Trent Johnson GETS A CHANCE to assemble his team and keep them together, we can hopefully expect him to do better than lose by 25 to a 9th seeded NCAA team.
2005:
g - Tack Minor
g - Antonio Hudson
f - Brandon Bass
f - Regis Koundjas/Ross Neltner
c - Glen Davis
This team, full of hope and one that took #1 UK to the wire in the semis of the SEC in ATL, went out to Boise and got demolished by 11th seeded UAB - a team Brady had beaten by double-digits some 15 months earlier. It was as if Brady watched ZERO film on UAB or he forgot that he had played them the previous year. Either way, he's an idiot and couldn't win with, as you pointed out, SEC player of the year winners like Bass, Lloreda, Davis, etc. Minor was supposed to be the next great point guard and showed flashes of it...but who's to blame for that r'ship gone awry? Tack, alone? 18-20 year old kids should be accountable for all their decisions?

Sorry, but you'll get one year to see these two play along side one another. White is NBA bound. I'm telling ya. The kid is gonna rock our world.
Skepticism is normal, but believe me...college ball is now about the freshmen you have who contribute and the role players you have who have played together for 2 plus years. We're going to have an awesome mix of the two next season.
We're going to the tourney.

I'll gladly eat some major crow next year if I am wrong, but if I am right............
Posted on 1/18/10 at 8:14 pm to PiscesTiger
I saw White at Ole Miss, he will be good. He'll have a lot of developing to do to get NBA ready, however.

I liked the 3 SEC titles, Sweet 16s, and Final Four. Some day you NEGATIGERS
will realize the only way to do that is get the best players. They will leave early (thanks NBA), and you will have some down years. You do it the other way, you will be Vandy. I don't know why this was such a problem for you NEGATIGERS
. It doesn't seem to be bothering this year. As for the Temples and the cross examination, you still have not explained why Collis, or the players, would have subjected themselves to your scenario. Judge Judy - "If it doesn't make sense, it isn't true". The 2000 SEC Champs had nothing to do with Collis, and neither did last year. You're blowin' nothing but
. GIVE IT UP!

I know your IQ must be rock bottom, but consider that your airhead brought me into the thread by name. Try to stay conscious, will ya?

Much ado about nothing.
Explain WHAT THE HELL this even means. If you are referring to what Hippo said about their dislike of Brady, why is that such a hard thing to fathom? Temple, Jr. keeps a group of close-knit friends together and at his alma mater. He doesn't do it to punish them; instead it's to get them exposure and to a Final 4. NO, they didn't like Brady. What is so silly about that? Do you know how many football players hated Nick Saban as a person?
Also, when you quote/reference a lunatic fraud like Judge Judy as your way of trying to make a point, you lose credibility FAST. You might as well use Miss Cleo or Richard Simmons or Carrot Top for your quoting addictions.

No way any father sends his sons and their friends to play for a person they consider a moron and a lunatic. He could have sent them together to another school. No way they agree to go if they hate that coach in high school. Funny that all of them stayed (players that were good and could have transfered out anywhere they wanted), but the lame players left. You are totally full of baloney! Judge Judy - "If it doesn't make sense, it isn't true".

2 SEC titles, with one being a share of the western division.
I liked them very much also. I felt like I was a kid again bc it had been that long since we had been to a Sweet 16.
What I didn't like?
2000 - Getting embarrassed by an inferior Wisconsin team. Brady elected to play their style of ball...hence why we scored about 14 points in the 2nd half.
2003 - Momentum builds and then we get skull-drugged by Purdue. NO excuse and tainted what was a solid season.
2004 - 17-4 after beating UF in Gainesville and then we start dropping games left and right. A pathetic display against Auburn at home was the first domino to fall. One win - an ugly one at that - versus Ole Miss was all we got after that. We got destroyed by SC in the SEC tourney and then miss the dance and had to go to Norman for another arse whipping. But it was all Lloreda's fault, right? God forbid Brandon Bass, Antonio Hudson, Tack Minor, etc. get it done.
2005 - Slow start, but a primetime win over Alabama on a Neltner tip-in gets us going and we beat Vandy at home to clinch a share of the SEC west. We look great in the SEC tourney and then we go to Boise and you know what happens here. Brady had the team as poorly prepared as possible and as I said earlier, we had just beaten fricking UAB by 15 damn points a year earlier. Does Brady throw away his game films at the end of the year?
2006 - GREAT year. Bravo. Despite losing to all big time OOC opponents except WVU, we manage to go 14-2 in the SEC. We look like we're about to lose to Iona and then we dominate the 2nd half...then, D. Mitchell buys Brady 2 more years on his contract by nailing a 3. Garrett Temple shuts down JJ and we knock out Duke. Tyrus is now a household name and becomes even bigger after our OT win vs. Texas. Yes, I credit Brady, C Temple, Pierre, and a group of quality kids for getting us to Indy. But when we get to Indy, we suddenly look like the 2000 team in Albuquerque. I guess we learned that the Sweet 16 isn't the stage to choke on...it's when every tv set in America is on you against UCLA. I was embarrassed! We beat UCLA and I truly think we had a shot at UF, but only God, the team, and a handful of others know why we choked that Saturday night in Indy. BRADY can't control his players. Talent alone got us to where we got that season. Brady should shake Temple's hand and cock everyday of the year for the next ten years for assembling that team. Brady can thank Collis that he has a job in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
There are the years you are thankful for. While I am grateful to have banners to hang, I also like to see us finish things. 2000, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 were fun - some more than others - and great players passed through our doors. Nonetheless, the pessimistic LSU fan will remember the choke jobs on national tv than an SEC west title. It pisses me off that we didn't win the national title in 2006. Hell, we could have gotten to the final 4 in 2000. 2005 had many of us thinking that anything could happen after we took UK to the limit. Brady gets credit where it's due...he also gets discredit for some of the worst coaching in the big game I have seen on any level. Maybe his prowess and his awesome ability that he learned from powerhouse Samford College was just too much for the SEC.

Yes way. It happens every day. I know you are about as profound as a gummy worm, but try to see the bigger picture here. Think about what might have been in it for Collis....go ahead.

Let's factor in we've been to 3 Final Fours in 23 years. I'd say if u get there it's a big accomplishment, especially at LSU.
Brady did a great job and then went in the ditch the last two years, ala Dinardo. I was 50-50 on keeping Brady, but I am behind Trent now. He's our coach, so I'm behind him. He'll live or die on his recruiting ability, he's already proven he can win with talent.

3 SEC titles. Anybody with half a brain and a thimble full of BB knowledge knows that was
Brady's title last year.
Brady's title last year.

Oh really? Well, Brentwood loves some Brady.
No, that was LSU's title last year. Brady gets ZERO credit.
