Oh, that makes sense.

Any idea where Davis and the rest of the guys will end up?

This new rule really sucks.

I've been told the roster is final.

Walk-on pitcher Spencer Matthews was added to the roster. While 2 Scholarship redshirt freshmen were cut.

Also I understand that Chad Jones is done...

I believe Reine was cut based on the fact that they were unable to find him a definite spot in the outfield and Mainieri respected him enough to let him go and play at other places.

This rule sucks big time. Hope they turn it around. It is a devastating end to the "Rudy" stories of college baseball.

im not sure Reine had his academics in order. That was a problem for him last year. If that continued then there may have been the problem and not necc. his ability.

Didnt look to have much of a fastball but had a big sweeping curve that looked like his "go to"

Barbe has five pitchers who get starting time, but Cecchini says that will likely be trimmed to a starting rotation of three once the District 3-5A season begins. The Bucs graduated their ace from last year in Spencer Mathews, but return several arms including starting right-handers Trey Brown (2-2, 3.08 ERA) and Ryan Doiron (2-0, 1.75 ERA) — both Division I signees.

Sounds like he was the ace of a pretty good staff

Matthews is a stud. Manieri wanted him last year, but he just barely didn't make the final cut. Manieri called Matthews and personally asked him to try out again this year.

Matthews really helps the baseball team. He is a stand up guy with great grades and a great attitude. LSU did well adding him to the roster, even if he only helps the teams chemistry... Manieri

His fastball is in the Low 90's and his curve is very deceptive... IMHO, He is a pitch to contact kinda guy...
