Message board fail. Thoughts should be limimted to 2 paragraphs max. Etiquette was violated. lol

Was not aware of that. Won't promise, but will try to do better. The most unusal thing though is that I wasn't aware that etiquette had anything to dowith these rants. Also LOL.

Name this team:
Team X has top quarterback the league. Returns its top two rushers from last year. Returns the top 5 pass catchers in the country including the recieving unit ranked as the best in league by most publications. Add in an All American TE, and a defense that returns more than half of the unit from last year. A defense which will be loaded with upperclassmen.

OK give up?? It's Arkansas. Forget about the name on the front of the jersey. At the very least, Arkansas is as talented and more experienced than LSU. That game's going to be a dog fight. FWIW, until I really sat down and thought about it, there's no way I would have thought we had any chance to lose to Arky., but after looking at it, they are pretty good.

For both coaching and talent, only Alabama and Florida are better. As most of the other posters are saying, what have Butch Davis, Gene Chizik, Houston Nutt, and Bobby Petrino done lately? Have .500 records at their schools?

Rantards = short attention span, reading comprehension skills, and sentence structure. Use the KISS method, and learn to

If Bama and Florida have better overall talent than ours, then we've slipped badly over the last three years.

If Arkansas has better overall talent than ours, then we've done a complete nose-dive.

I say you're short by about 6.

I say one - Florida. LSU and Bama are a push on talent and Arkansas is a couple of steps down on the ladder.

Well Nutt has beaten Miles the last 3 years. Can we classify that as 'lately'?

Petrino is obviously one of the best offensive minds in game while Miles' offense was in the bottom 10% of the nation last year. Arkansas will be in the thick of the SECW race in late November when LSU is out of it the first week of the same month. Petrino be 2-1 vs Miles after this year.

If Miles is better than Butch Davis, why weren't all of the NFL teams banging on his door like they did Butch Davis after the 07 season when his stock was at it's highest point? Don't give me the 'he didn't cut in the NFL' crap either because theres another coach that didn't cut it in the big leagues that I won't mention that seems to be doing pretty good lately back in college.

This is a dumb way to determine how good a coach is.

Butch Davis is overrated.

florida a hair better talent, but young.
LSU solid = Bama

Ark < LSU, Bama, and Florida

I like Nutt best, Meyer, then Miles, then Saban, then Dooley, then Richt.
I think LSU's overall staff is = to any.

I dont like OC Crowton.

So the NFL doesn't go after the best coaches (college or pro) out there when they have a coaching vacancy? I must have been confused.

You're probably right....other than putting together one of the best college football teams in NCAA history after having to rebuild the team after the mess Dennis Erickson left them in. His team should've played in the BCSCG in 2000 (his last year), but got screwed when FSU got in and had he not gone pro would've won the NC in 01, but Coker got that one. Other than all of that he's horrible!

The only two in the same league are Bama and Florida. I think we are actually even with Bama if not slightly more talented as a whole.

UF is definitely above us, but we are actually better than them in a few spots such as WR.

In the end, there is no reason LSU should go less than 10-2 and realistically 11-1 with their talent. They should beat Bama since talent is even and the game is at home, but likely lose to UF since they have a little more talent and the game is on the road.

Other than that, no one even comes that close.

I love how the kool-aid drinkers get on here and claim that LSU has talent equal to florida and alabama and then turnaround and defend miles in the next sentence. if LSU has that kind of talent, which i'm not disputing, and our head coaching is on par with the same 2 teams, how in the hell do we have SEVEN & EIGHT fewer league wins than said teams over the last 2 years? someone answer me that please!

Even Bama and UF are debatable, but would be the only two teams with comparable talent. Generally, LSU is in the same class as those two, no one else is quite there. UGA lagging slightly behind the top three.

On paper, there is no signficant difference in the talent between the three schools. Maybe Florida is a little deeper at fast, skill positions (WR, DB), Bama may be a little deeper overall, and we may have slightly better 1st team WRs, and better depth at RB. However, purely on talent, there isn't enough difference to fuss with. Based on performance, Bama and Florida have a few more players receiving pre-season All-SEC and All-American attention. However, that can change quickly.

How so??? he built that dynasty at the U in the early 2000's. Miles has not come CLOSE to BUILDING a program as strong as that. Your LOVE for Miles has clouded your judgement.

i don't think LSUs talent has been equal to UF and bama....especially at QB and o-line...the two most important areas on the field
