Aranda was a major part of what we did here. It would be equivalent to losing Venables at Clemson. But, i think what you’re saying is a bit of an exaggeration than anything. Changing defensive schemes with no real offseason and having a DC past his time is the reason this team sucks so awful. Aranda took over a program that was in great shape at Baylor left by Rhule (which almost won the big 12 championship last year) and is 2-6. Don’t get me wrong, Aranda is a phenomenal coach which we would be better with and to me he’s better suited for the pros than college but, the glue he was not.

Here's another aspect you didn't mention. Imagine your primary teacher/leader/boss changing from a friendly, philosopher almost Yoda-like type to an assholish, meathead, jump down your throat if you mess up type. That type of switch almost never ends up well in education, sports or the workforce.
Thank you for posting this. This is the truth whether people accept it or not. Both leadership styles can work in the right environment, but rarely to never can you make this switch and have it work immediately. Especially in an environment where you have had great success with the first style.

You are daft. Joe Burrow wasn't here in 2016 and 2017. LSU was not a dumpster fire those years. They were above average.
The point isn't that Aranda leaving made us go from 15-0 to 3-7. Its that Aranda leaving made us go from 9-4 or 8-5 to 3-7.
bullshite!.. If Burrow wasn't here in '18 and '19 we would have been lucky to win 7 games with McMillan or Brennan at QB. Arandas' defense last year was average even with 4 guys who were drafted in the first two rounds of the NFL draft. The offense bailed out the defense last year. Was it Aranda who had #24 playing press coverage late vs Bama? WTF.
Oh yeah, Aranda isn't doing so hot at Baylor.

After the Ole Miss game, our defense was very, very good. It had some growing pains and injuries to deal with, but it got better as the year went on and absolutely peaked at the right time.
