Not at the QB position. Miles couldn't recruit a QB even if he recruited illegally.

He had Narcisse and Brennan Committed. But yes finding a decent Qb to lead his amazing teams the last 3 years doomed him. Just like it is dooming alot of college coaches. There just arent enough to go around especially when your state stops producing them and you have a run first play great defense philosophy.
Very few OOS state big time QB's are going to leave their state and not be the focal point of the offense.
