I haven’t been keeping up with him as of late, but is anyone aware of a timeframe to expect him back? His addition would be huge to this team. I think if we have him back for conference play, it would do wonders for our chances in tourneys. It would give him some quality starts that would set us up in great position to outlast the opponents in the bullpen. We would theoretically have 5 starter caliber pitchers in Hess, Hilliard, Walker, Marceaux, and Hill. Any thoughts?

Going to try and get him an inning Wednesday which is great news.

Edit: I don't think the plan will ever be for Hillard to start this year unless it's an emergency in the SEC tournament but I could be wrong.

Is his injury the reason for not expected a start, or is it because he fits into another role on the staff?

Marceaux and Hill are just better.

Hillard started last year because the pitching staff was severely depleted. I'm hoping he's able to start working his way back slowly and become that long reliever on the weekend this team has been looking for, it would at least give them the option of having Walker/Hillard when needed.

I'm basing this assumption that LSU will not be playing 2 midweek games every week this year.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Marceaux and Hill are the better option as starters. But Hilliard will be one of our best relief options if he can get healthy and plays a major role for us.

This just seems like the perfect role for him. Seems like a perfect set up guy or even someone we can bring in in a jam to help get us out of it. He’s just a very different style of pitcher from our starters and will be a great change of pace

Any word on Gilbert while we’re at it? He’ll be big to have too for the bullpen

Everything previously was that surgery was just supposed to be a clean up so I figured he would definitely itely be throwing by now and we would’ve heard something about it

Adam is Storz set for an April return?

Just knowing the surgery Storz had I’d be surprised if we saw him throw at all this year. Would have to think the goal would be for him to be back for next with Labas

Yes and he's been a bit ticked that he's had so many set backs so I'm hoping that helps him push through earlier than expected.

Gilbert was the 1st out & warming up on Sunday. He lightly threw for a about 10 minutes w/ AD watching. He continued to throw a little harder when the rest of the pitchers started their warm ups.

His frame didn’t hold up to all of the stress of pitching many innings. It is what it is.
